A survey by Yiaga Africa, the National Voting Intentions Survey (NVIS 3.0), found that 84% of Nigerians intend to vote in the 2027 general elections. However, only 34% are confident in INEC, and 61% say fear of violence could keep them at home. The report, titled 'Willing but Wary', is based on interviews with 2,470 Nigerians across all 36 states and the FCT. It highlights insecurity, weak trust in electoral institutions, and the monetization of politics as threats to voter turnout.
