The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has warned that judges appointed to election tribunals will be closely monitored ahead of the 2027 general elections. She spoke during the flag-off ceremony of the 2026/2027 legal year of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria. The CJN stressed the need for impartiality and restraint, and urged lawyers to avoid duplicating court actions that could lead to conflicting judgments.
