Seventy-two hours after a Nigerian Air Force aircraft crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, the main wreckage has not been recovered despite the use of amphibious excavators. The aircraft, with tail number NGR 931, was on a routine flight from Benin to Lagos when it crashed into a swampy area near the Naval Forward Operating Base on Monday. Twenty-five people, including crew members, died in the crash. Search efforts continue for the black box, and military chiefs have visited the site as a sonar survey is initiated to locate the submerged aircraft.
