The Coca-Cola system has announced a R500 million public-private partnership to address South Africa's water infrastructure challenges and improve long-term water security. The non-revenue water initiative was developed with Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, the World Bank Group's 2030 Water Resources Group, the Platform for a Water Secure Gauteng, the Department of Water and Sanitation, Rand Water Services, Global Water Challenge, and the City of Tshwane. It forms part of the Coca-Cola system's Africa Water Stewardship Initiative and aims to reduce municipal water and revenue losses from leaks while unlocking private sector investment in public water systems. The announcement followed a meeting with President Cyril Ramaphosa.
