A writer tested 11 popular Le Labo fragrances and ranked them from worst to best. The New York City brand was founded by friends Fabrice Penot and Edouard Roschi in 2006 and grew so popular that it was purchased by Estee Lauder Companies in 2014. Bottles retail between $113 and $1,810, and samples cost between $7 and $13 each. The writer first tried the brand at the end of 2024, testing Santal 33 against a Target dupe, and later tried samples of 10 other popular scents. In the ranking, Santal 33 was described as overrated while Vanille 44, a Paris-exclusive fragrance, was said to deserve more hype.
