The Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI) has stated that the N70,000 national minimum wage is insufficient for a decent living. The union made this known during its commemoration of the 2026 World Day for Decent Work in Lagos. ASSBIFI's Acting National President, Fanimokun Adesina, emphasized that workers deserve wages that can support their families and ensure a dignified standard of living. The union called on the Federal Government to take urgent steps to reduce the rising cost of living and improve workers' welfare.
