Parents of the 20 abducted prospective NYSC members have expressed relief and joy following confirmation of their release. The prospective corps members were abducted while traveling to orientation camps in Imo State. However, the parents' joy is mixed with anxiety as they have not yet established direct contact with their children, who are reportedly still with the Department of State Services (DSS). Alhaja Alimot Akande, spokesperson for the families, confirmed the release in an interview with Vanguard.
