The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reassured Nigerians of its readiness to deliver credible elections in 2027. The reassurance was given by INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, at a strategic workshop for editors in Abuja. Amupitan emphasized that democracy is a journey requiring constant care, vigilance, and institutional courage. He also stressed that the strength of democracy depends on the partnership between those who manage, monitor, and report the vote.
