Eight-year-old Ali Ibrahim was treated at the Cholera Treatment Unit in Njimtilo, Borno State, after suffering from severe dehydration due to cholera. His mother, Ummi Ibrahim, expressed relief as he recovered and regained his appetite. The unit is part of coordinated efforts by the Borno State Government, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and partners to bring cholera treatment closer to affected communities. Since the outbreak began in May 2026, all 22 local government areas have been affected, and efforts are ongoing to strengthen surveillance, case management, and prevention.
