Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has acknowledged that the administration's economic reforms pushed more Nigerians into poverty. He made the admission during an interview on Channels Television, amid ongoing debate over the impact of the removal of petrol subsidy and foreign exchange reforms. Bwala stated that the reforms caused discomfort and increased poverty, but insisted that the country has made marked progress since the reforms began. He emphasized that the government has spent the last three years communicating this progress to Nigerians.
