A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter made a precautionary landing in Benue State during an air interdiction operation in Ogbadigbo, a border town between Benue and Enugu States. The incident occurred barely 48 hours after a fatal NAF ATR-42 crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, and 24 hours after the Chief of the Air Staff and the Minister of Aviation called for joint aviation safety measures. The helicopter and its crew members safely returned to base, according to NAF. The call for safety measures followed at least 10 military air mishaps in the past decade, some resulting in fatalities.
