The Utomi-led Big Tent Coalition has condemned the Federal Government's plan to hold another inauguration ceremony for Section One of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. Minister of Works Dave Umahi announced that the 47.47-kilometre Section One is ready for commissioning, which is just over 6% of the approximately 750-kilometre project spanning nine coastal states. The coalition noted that on May 31, 2025, the government organised a similar ceremony for 30 kilometres, less than 5% of the total length. In a statement by Director of Media and Communications Charles Odibo, the coalition questioned the practice of commissioning unfinished road stretches.
