The Imo State Police Command has denied knowledge of any ransom paid for the release of 20 abducted corps members and one other person. Commissioner of Police Audu Bosso said the kidnappers succumbed to pressure from security agencies during a rescue operation. The victims were abducted on October 1 along the Owerri-Onitsha Road while traveling to NYSC orientation camps and are now receiving attention at the DSS office.
