Elon Musk has publicly criticized Indian authorities for delaying final approval for Starlink to operate commercially in India. In a series of posts on X, Musk alleged that Starlink is being blocked by certain oligarchs seeking to maintain a monopolistic chokehold on the Indian people. Starlink first applied for licenses in India in 2022. India's largest telecom firm is planning a similar service, and another has partnered with a Starlink rival.
