UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has reversed his previous decision not to seek re-election and will stand for a fourth term. Ceferin informed delegates from UEFA's 55 national associations of his decision at a meeting in Berlin. He had said in February 2024 that he would not seek a fourth term amid controversy over UEFA's move to change its statutes to allow him to remain in office. The development comes amid growing tensions between UEFA and FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
