Returned Benin artefacts that were taken during the 1897 British expedition will be put on public display as part of the 10th coronation anniversary of the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II. The exhibition, organized by the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, will allow the public to view some of the repatriated items. Cultural troupes from the South-South and South-East regions are expected to perform during the month-long celebrations. The return of the artefacts is linked to the advocacy efforts of the Oba and his predecessors for the restitution of Benin's cultural heritage.
