A Muslim candidate for the US Senate, Abdul El-Sayed, accused Donald Trump of struggling after the president misnamed him 'Mohammed' on social media. Trump attacked the left-wing Democratic candidate on his Truth Social platform, baselessly accusing him of being a 'Terrorist Sympathizer.' El-Sayed, an Arab American running for a Michigan Senate seat, said at a campaign event in Grand Rapids that Trump thinks his name is Mohammed, adding that his name is Abdul. He was joined at the event by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Delaware Senator.
