Opobo Kingdom in Rivers State now has a new King, King Charles Douglas MacPepple Jaja, Jeki VI. He was crowned as the sixth Amanyanabo of Opobo at a coronation held at Jaja Square, Opobo Town. The coronation marked the climax of activities that began on September 17, 2026, to celebrate his emergence. The piece by Eric Teniola draws similarities between Benin and Opobo.
