A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a suit filed by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai seeking to restrain the Department of State Services (DSS), Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and others from freezing his bank accounts and seizing his assets. The court held that the suit was speculative and lacked merit, and did not disclose any reasonable cause of action against the EFCC, DSS, and AGF. The suit, dated February 23, 2026, and filed on February 24, 2026, by Oluwole Iyamu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, sought an order of interim injunction directing the respondents to maintain the status quo ante. Other respondents included the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), DSS, and Attorney-General of the Federation.
