The Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos is undergoing significant infrastructural transformation, with the old international terminal, now Terminal 1, closed for a complete overhaul since March 2026. The terminal, which was burnt in February, has been stripped and work is ongoing to modernize it. The remodeling programme aims to bring the airport to international standards, with visible changes already evident. The project is part of efforts to provide a state-of-the-art facility for Nigeria's major gateway.
