The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has rejected allegations of partisanship made by The Nation newspaper regarding the participation of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and political economist Prof. Pat Utomi at the recently concluded All Nigeria Editors Conference (ANEC) in Enugu. The Guild maintained that the conference provided a professional platform for engagement with political and public actors across the divide, and that other key players in the run-up to the 2027 poll were also invited. In a statement signed by its President, Eze Anaba, and General Secretary, Onuoha Ukeh, the NGE demanded an apology from The Nation’s editorial board over what it described as a misleading impression.
