Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR-42 aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, warning against speculation over the cause of the tragedy until aviation safety experts complete their inquiry. Aneke, who visited the crash site as recovery operations continued, said the investigation would involve military and civilian aviation safety experts, including representatives of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), accident and emergency management authorities, retired senior military officers, and experienced Air Force personnel. The air force chief, who said he personally knew all the occupants of the ill-fated aircraft, described the crash as a devastating loss. He also hailed the Ondo State government and Igbokoda residents for their efforts, while Aero sympathised with the bereaved families.
