The Federal Government has announced a 10-point intervention to cushion the impact of rising petrol prices and the energy crisis. The measures include a 30-day discount at NNPC filling stations nationwide, with priority for public transporters, and a negotiated N1,350 per litre ceiling on the ex-gantry cost of petrol. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given a two-week ultimatum to return to 2024 prices, while Atiku Abubakar and the ADC have criticised the measures as a panic move and an attempt to bribe Nigerians.
