The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, has announced that the bureau is working to digitalise procurement processes and improve access to information. He made this known in Abuja during a stakeholders' engagement with civil society organisations on public procurement reforms. The BPP is also developing a classification system and database for contractors based on their capacity and experience to prevent companies from securing contracts they cannot execute. Additionally, the bureau is creating a database of procurement officers and price intelligence mechanisms to provide benchmarks for public projects and flag inflated costs.
