Lagos State has arrested 911 beggars as part of its ongoing efforts to address street begging, which the government views as a threat to public order, environmental safety, and security. Despite these arrests, begging persists across the city, with scenes at locations like Ikeja Under-Bridge, Oshodi, Agege, CMS, Oyingbo, Pen Cinema, and the Lekki-Epe corridor. The government is intensifying its crackdown on the practice, which has become deeply embedded in the daily life of Africa's largest megacity.
