Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Abia State, has unveiled plans to industrialise Umuahia and develop it into a cosmopolitan state capital. He made this known during a courtesy visit by the group Umuahia Urban Men, who declared their support for his ambition. Anosike attributed Umuahia's underdevelopment to successive governors relocating governance to their home areas, which he said has caused businesses to decline. He also noted that former governors do not own homes in Umuahia, reflecting a lack of commitment to the capital city.
