New research conducted exclusively for Business Insider by Morning Consult found that high earners are more likely to trust influencers and purchase products they recommend. In a survey of about 2,000 US adults in September, 61% of those earning over $100,000 a year trusted creator recommendations, compared to about half of lower earners. The study also indicated that high earners were more likely to be politically swayed by influencers and to want to become influencers themselves. Amanda Acevedo, director of talent at G&B Digital Management, attributed this dynamic to influencers feeling more relatable to those with disposable income.
