The Political Affairs Directorate of the ECOWAS Commission held the second edition of its "Brown Bag" seminar on 7 October 2026 in Abuja, Nigeria. The seminar was themed "The New Has Not Yet Been Born: Global Africa in the Era of Chimerica." It aimed to promote knowledge-sharing and deepen reflection on the emerging world order shaped by cooperation and competition between China and the United States. Guest Speaker Professor Adekeye Adebajo of the University of Pretoria analysed Africa's interests and priorities amid shifting geopolitics.
