United Nations Police officers serving with the peacekeeping mission in South Sudan are helping to strengthen community policing in Bor. They trained 40 national counterparts, including 15 women, in responding to emerging security and social challenges and in engaging with the communities they serve. The training emphasized that public trust is key to effective police protection, particularly for reporting sensitive cases such as sexual and gender-based violence. First Lieutenant Agoot Philip Yai said the officers were excited to apply the knowledge gained.
