The Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET) has commenced the settlement of N729 billion in outstanding debts owed to participating electricity Generation Companies (GenCos) and their associated gas suppliers. The debt settlement is expected to improve liquidity in the power sector and ensure stable electricity generation. The process is part of efforts to address financial challenges in the Nigerian electricity supply industry.
