ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has dismissed President Bola Tinubu's 30-day petrol discount as insufficient to address years of economic hardship. Speaking at the inauguration of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on Friday, Atiku said a temporary reduction in petrol prices cannot reverse rising costs of food, transportation, electricity, and business operations. He accused Tinubu of adopting the principle behind his proposed production subsidy after previously dismissing it, but failing to implement essential safeguards. Atiku insisted Nigerians need lasting relief rather than what he called an election-season palliative and will hold the administration accountable in 2027.
