Navi Pillay has been announced as the 2026 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize by the Norwegian Nobel Committee. Pillay has had a distinguished career as a human rights lawyer, judge, and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and currently serves as a judge ad hoc of the International Court of Justice. Human Rights Watch's Philippe Bolopion praised her long career promoting human rights and justice for the world's worst crimes.
