The Lagos State House of Assembly has constituted an eight-member ad hoc committee to identify, document, and facilitate the recovery of government-owned assets, including properties whose ownership or status may not be properly documented. The committee is mandated to establish the status of all documented and undocumented properties and other assets belonging to the state. Committee chairman Mr. Obafemi Saheed said effective oversight and accountability remain key legislative responsibilities of the House, including scrutinising government expenditure and monitoring the utilisation of public funds. He stated that the exercise would enable the committee to establish the assets owned by the state, assess their current status, and determine whether they are being effectively utilised.
