Hon. Rosemary Adukwu, the councillor representing Ogugu Ward III in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, was abducted while travelling to Onitsha market on 30th September 2026. Her commercial vehicle was intercepted by suspected kidnappers around the Oji River axis between Enugu and Anambra states, and she was dragged out and taken to a forest hideout. A week after the abduction, the Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Dr. Ameh Williams, announced her death in a statement on Friday. The statement expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the councillor.
