A 35-year-old Vehicle Inspection Officer, Adediji Sesan, was crushed to death by a vehicle along Hospital Road in Akure, Ondo State. The driver, 37-year-old Ayoade Idowu, has been arrested and detained by the police. Sesan was on routine patrol when he attempted to stop a white Mitsubishi van for document inspection; the driver initially stopped but allegedly drove off, hitting the officer. The victim sustained severe head injuries and was confirmed dead at FUTA Teaching Hospital.
