Google is about to roll out a new AI model. Employees say they're testing another that's way better.

Google employees are testing an internal version of the company's flagship AI model, Gemini 4, codenamed Carbon. The model was made available on Google's internal coding platform, Jetski, in recent days. One employee compared Carbon's coding capabilities to Anthropic's Opus 5.5 model, though they noted further testing is needed. This comes as Google prepares to release its new Gemini 4 'Argon' model to the public.
