Mercedes-Benz has recorded 25 per cent growth in commercial van sales across its Rest of the World region in the third quarter of 2026, highlighting emerging markets' growing importance to its global business amid intensifying competition and shifting demand. The German luxury automaker sold 84,400 vans worldwide during the quarter, with sales outside China rising six per cent year-on-year, driven by an eight per cent increase in North America and strong growth across the Rest of the World region. Although Mercedes-Benz did not disclose Africa-specific sales figures, the performance highlights the potential of emerging markets as demand for commercial vehicles evolves across transportation, logistics, distribution and other business sectors. For African businesses, where commercial vehicles support the movement of goods and passengers, the development underscores the importance of reliable transport solutions to productivity and operational efficiency.
