Nigerians in Douala, Cameroon, celebrated Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary on Sunday, October 4, 2026, with cultural performances and diplomatic engagements. The event honored Dangote Cement Cameroon for its 10 years of operations in the country and was attended by Nigerian community members, Cameroonian government officials, and business leaders, including the Governor of the Littoral Region, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua. Nigeria gained independence from Britain on October 1, 1960, and the Federal Government declared Thursday, October 1, 2026, a public holiday for the anniversary.
