Journalist Hamurabi Huesca Manzano was shot dead on Friday in Oaxaca state, Mexico, according to the human rights NGO Article 19. He was the owner of a news website, Pinotepa Comunica, and was also a taxi driver. An armed group opened fire on him and two other men, and he died from gunshot wounds. Article 19 has demanded that the prosecutor's office treat his journalistic work as a priority in its investigation. Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries for journalists, with more than 150 media professionals killed since 1994.
