The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has omitted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, and his running mate from the final list of candidates for the February 6, 2027, governorship election. The final list, released on Saturday evening, includes 13 governorship candidates from 13 political parties, but neither Adebutu nor his deputy appears. The reason for the omission was not immediately clear. The list also shows that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Lawal Jimi Adebisi, and his running mate, Olutayo Florence Funlola Folake, were included pursuant to a court order.
