The National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, is absent from the final list of governorship candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 election. The list, signed by INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony, includes 17 candidates from various parties but does not feature Gwarzo or any NDC candidate. Among those listed are Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the APC and Abacha Muhammed Sani of the PDP, along with candidates from the ADC, Labour Party, SDP, and other parties.
