A fresh crude oil discovery in Okpe-Isoko community, Delta State, has sparked a dispute over a purported land lease agreement with Sterling Global Limited. The Adhakpor family rejected the lease, stating that individuals claiming to represent it had no authority or mandate to act on its behalf. In a statement, the family said it neither authorised nor mandated any individual or group to negotiate, execute, or enter into any lease agreement, Memorandum of Understanding, or related document with Sterling Global Limited concerning its land. The family described the purported transaction as unauthorised and unacceptable, stressing that no individual could validly bind it without a specific mandate.
