Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, stated that the 1999 power rotation agreement between the North and South favors President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. He spoke in Lafia, Nasarawa State, during a grand rally organized by the North-central zone of the APC to endorse President Tinubu for re-election. Akume insisted that the North would produce the president in 2031 when the incumbent completes his eight years. The event also saw the First Lady, governors, and other officials defending Tinubu's second-term ambition.
