The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has procured 3,700 electric tricycles to transport passengers and convey farm produce from remote communities to markets. Ahmadu said the introduction of e-mobility in the North-East is starving insurgents of materials used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The electric tricycles are expected to improve transportation and reduce reliance on materials that can be used for IEDs.
