Former Senator Shehu Sani has stated that candidates omitted from the final list of governorship candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) face a lost battle. In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Sani claimed that the legal backing granted to INEC by the Supreme Court is unambiguous and makes further legal challenges futile. The INEC final list was recently published ahead of the governorship elections. Sani's comments suggest that any omitted candidates have no legal recourse.
