Migrant workers in the United Kingdom staged a protest against proposed immigration changes that could extend the qualifying period for permanent settlement to 15 years. The demonstration took place on Monday, 28 September, outside the Labour Party conference in Liverpool. The protesters sang Nigerian singer Asa's song 'Jailer' while wearing chains.
