My parents spent 25 years celebrating me. For their 30th anniversary, I finally got to celebrate them.

The author's parents met as teenagers in 1986 and celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year. The author and their twin brother surprised them with a party attended by more than 40 friends and relatives. Planning the event reminded the author that their parents have a story beyond raising children. The parents married in June 1996 at Alex & Henry's, a catering hall that has since closed.
