The Presidency has criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's economic proposals, stating that the Nigerian electorate is too sophisticated to trade long-term economic security for short-term demagoguery. It defended President Bola Tinubu's administration's policies, including market deregulation, targeted price-smoothing mechanisms, strategic reserves, rapid CNG rollout, and disciplined fiscal management, as necessary for sustainable prosperity. The Presidency warned that Atiku's subsidy revival risks repeating the pre-2023 fiscal crisis.
