Chief Ifeanyichukwuma Odii, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ebonyi State, has denied reports that he is stepping down for Governor Francis Nwifuru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 election. He also dismissed claims that Minister of Works Senator David Umahi asked him to abandon his ambition, describing them as propaganda and political manoeuvring. Odii said he had not discussed the matter with Umahi and had received no request to withdraw. He affirmed that he is contesting as a PDP member because the party gave him the mandate under the Constitution.
