The Enugu State Government has alleged that opposition elements are planning to import armed thugs and bandits into the state to create panic and a false sense of insecurity ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, made the allegation during a press conference on Sunday, while addressing incidents involving the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport and the party's state secretariat. Onyia denied any government involvement in the incidents and said Governor Mbah's performance is enough to win a free and fair election.
